1. Intervene early! Reading disabilities are considered to be the most common learning disability and are often not diagnosed or treated until it is too late for easy recovery. A child with a reading disability that is not identified until the third grade or later is already years behind his or her classmates. This is a gap that must be closed if the child is ever to catch up with his or her peers. The best intervention is in kindergarten or remediation beginning in the first grade.
2. Teach phonics. Through phonics, children learn to associate sounds and form connections to word recognition and decoding skills needed for reading. Research clearly proves that phoneme awareness performance is a major predictor of long- term reading and spelling success. In fact, according to the International Reading Association, phonemic awareness skills in kindergarten and first grade appear to be the most important predictor of successful reading acquisition.
3. Teach spelling. Spelling and reading rely on the same mental representations of a word. The correlation between spelling and reading comprehension is high because both depend on proficiency with language. The more profoundly and methodically a student knows a word, the more likely he or she is to recognize it, read it, spell it, write it, and use it appropriately in speech and writing.
4. Teach writing. Start teaching writing in preschool and kindergarten. Learning to write engages the brain in repetition and memory on how letters and sounds reflect meaning, addresses numerous reading and cognitive skills, and helps activate both reading and spelling areas of the brain.
5. Teach handwriting. Technology is a fun writing tool for kids but it doesn't engage the early reading brain in the same helpful way as learning to move the pencil across the page to use letters as images of sound. Brain scan studies show that early lessons in letter formation help activate and coordinate reading connections in the brain.
6. Repetition, repetition, repetition. The brain of a child feeds on repetition to make doing things such as reading automatic and fluent. Use repetition in the early grades for reading aloud, for rhyming, for matching letters with sounds, for writing alphabet letters, for spelling, for sounding out words, for automatic reading of sight words, for making meaning in print. Children thrive on it. So make it fun!
7. Don't ever give up on your child. Keep the expectations of your child and their reading future high. We owe it to our children to show our support, give them
every resource possible to help them and give them the skills necessary for learning and communicating throughout their education and their lives.

What Is The Best Work From Home Business?
Many people are looking to get involved in a work from home business; one of the fastest growing trends today in the employment market. It makes sense as people become more frustrated with long commutes to their work place and their desire to spend more time with family.
Having decided to quit the rat race, what makes the best work from home business for an individual? I suppose that comes down to individual taste but there are some key ingredients to ensure your new work from home business is a success.
Success Factors - Work From Home
Right Attitude. You need to adopt a business attitude away from a job attitude. Getting a new business off the ground will take time and money. There's no easy route. Most people entering a work from home business expect to be able to replace their job income within an unrealistic time period. This mindset couple with the lack of funding back into the business is one of the major contributors as to why most businesses fail within the first two years.
Right Affiliations. If you are going to promote the products and services of another company you need to make sure that they are reliable in delivering their product or service and that you can be guaranteed of being remunerated.
Right Environment. As you will be spending a lot of time working in your business, you need the right environment to help you produce your best. Preferably it needs to be a dedicated work space; either a separate room in your house or even the garage. Make sure you have a comfortable chair to sit in and that you are using the latest technology to assist you in growing your business.
With these factors in place let's look at some opportunities that could be the best work from home business for you.
Everybody has a story within just waiting to burst out. Do you have a way with words? Put it on paper and get published. It's so much easier today to become a published author. There's a boom in online books so much so that they are overtaking sales of hardcover and paperback books.
Amazon Kindle offers you are great platform to launch your writing business. When I wrote my first books How To Be A Smug Punter Not A Mug Punter and The Soccer Mom Diet I had no idea about writing a book and getting it published. I did undertake an online writing course from which I continue to learn from today. As I pen my 3rd book I will look at an additional option to physically publishing this book using Amazon's Createspace; an inexpensive print as you sell service.
Books are not dead. Kindle books are a booming market. Let your inner book out!
Online Retailer
Virtually anything can be purchased online. The world's best online retailers are Amazon and eBay and there are many people operating very successful work from home businesses partnering these two giants.
One of the biggest issues a new business owners faces is having enough customers visit his or her online business and buy their product or service. Traffic generation is an art and it takes time to build a brand to attract sufficient people to your store.
So why not go to where the market is? eBay and Amazon attract hundreds of millions of customers per month to their websites. By being an online retailer within these stores you can expose your product to a huge market without having to learn traffic generation skills. There are tons of courses showing you how to effectively have the best work from home business on eBay or Amazon to help you get started correctly.
Bed And Breakfast
Do you have a spare room and bathroom facilities in your house and would love to host other people on their travels. Bed and breakfasts are very popular especially those located either close to airports or in country towns.
Perhaps you live on acreage and can build some extra cottages to house your guests away from the main house. This would be ideal as it keeps guests out of your personal space.
Food is a major component in b & b's. Are you a good breakfast cook? If you can tick all these boxes and love people, then this can be a great business for you
No matter which path you take, ensuring the key success factors are in place will create the best work from home business for you. Good luck!

Believe in Yourself, Don't Accept Defeat
It is appealing to realize the number of pathetic people who are hampered and made miserable by the malady popularly called inferiority complex. But you need not to suffer from this trouble. Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy. A sense of inferiority and inadequacy interferes with the attainment of your hopes but self confidence leads to self-realization and successful achievement.
Why don't you belief in yourself? Why do you have much interest in others than your own? Perhaps you had an older brother or a friend who was brilliant student. He got A's in school; you made only C's and you never heard the last of it. So you believed that you could never succeed in life as he could. He got A's and you got C's, so you reasoned that you were consigned to getting C's ally our life.
Apparently you never realized that some of those who failed to get high grades in school have been the greatest successes outside of school. Just because somebody gets an A in college doesn't make him the greatest man in the world, because maybe his A's will stop when he gets his degree and the fellow who got C's in school will go on later to get the real A's in life.
If you are thinking of failure and defeat then probably nothing better will come your way. If you have been long defeated by a difficulty, it is probably because you have told yourself for weeks, months, and even for years that there is nothing you can do about it. You have so emphasized your inability to yourself that your mind gradually accepted the conclusion upon which you have insisted, and when your mind is convinced, you are convinced, for as you think so are you.
The greatest secret for eliminating the inferiority complex, which is another term for deep and profound self doubt, is to fill your mind to overflowing with faith. Develop a tremendous faith in GOD and that will give a humble yet soundly realistic faith in yourself. Whenever failure and defeats comes, instead of sitting back and accepting it say, "No I'm a victor, and not a victim." Tell yourself that I prefer doing something better than nothing. I may have been defeated before but my past is past. This is a new day. I can do something so far as I have light. Keep this lyrics on your heart.

Best Smartphone on The Market - Mobile Device Comparison and Review
When it comes to the best Smartphone on the market based on the number of users and market share, Android based Smartphones and the iOS platform of iPhones are among the leading contenders. However, Android based Smartphones are gradually catching pace with iPhones and there are even Android models that offer more advanced features in other areas where the iOS platform has been the leading pace setter. This growing trend is significant for the long-term viability of new application firms and freelance app developers, whether to go for Android app development or ride the iPhones bandwagon. However, everything will remain monopolized by this company and Android app development will not cut a sizeable chunk off the iPhones app development share.
Growing Market Share
Even if Android phones begin to get a firm foothold in the market one year after the release of iPhones, the Google powered phone actually experienced a significant acceleration in sales which eventually expanded the market for Smartphones. Smartphones using the Android platform offer a brand new market regardless of the continuously increasing network restrictions. At least fifty percent of Android users have their present Android phone as their first experience of using a Smartphone and becoming part of the Smartphone market. Since majority of Android phone users is young (60% are under 34 years old while 30% are between 35 and 49 years old), there will be a significant change on how Smartphone's will be marketed in the next few years.
Android did a good job of integrating its entire web - based applications including maps, docs, Google+, and Gmail among others. However, with the introduction of the new iOS 5 in the market, Android needs to step up its operating system in order for it to keep up its competitiveness among smartphone users and mobile phone technology in general. In line with the growing development in the Android apps industry, the much-anticipated release of Android's Ice Cream Sandwich before the end of this month or early in November is believed to give a new edge for Google powered phones in this ever continuing war on who is the best Smartphone on the market. Even with the iOS 5 out on the market, Google will not sit in the sidelines and watch iPhone take over the market of Smartphone's once again.
With Android based Smartphones pushing forward supported by an all in one operating system, this is definitely a shoo-in among smartphone users who may want to have the portability of mobile phones with the fantastic features and applications of an Android tablet. And while the iPhone may have the leading advantage when it comes to the number of apps in the market compared to Android apps, still the market is now positioned to experience significant growth within the next few years.

Hard Work Is Not Everything, But Hard Thinking Is
Working hard without thinking well and hard is fruitless and without reward. The key to creative movement is thinking well and hard and acting with reason, and not just "following orders for pay".
For instance, today, I was at my "day job" which I volunteer to do or want to do of course at the senior center. With the paid employees, I saw this: They are following instructions purely for pay, there are not any creative movements beyond that paid work. There is not any striving to better a situation or really think deeply about what is being done after a certain point. It is just a paycheck, not any passion. When you genuinely volunteer, it is a passion, it gets creative and more. Step beyond the phase of "purely for pay" and what do you get? That is when the real rewards happen.
I also volunteer with my local libraries. For those who work there, they usually just handle the knowledge and get paid. But for a rare one like me who loves to read and creatively use the knowledge and use it well, it is more, much more.
I acknowledge the need to make a living and totally understand it. But, to genuinely foster growth, something more needs to be done than to "make a living". Creativity needs to be acknowledged like a plant or flower gets watered or it dies or "nobody can live on bread alone, but by the fruits of the labor they shall be known." I know, that last part sounds a little like an old wives tale. Indeed, sometimes reality and universal principles come in that form because they are universal principles and facts. Think about what works for a moment and what does not work genuinely for a moment, and you will understand what I mean by "universal principles and facts" like what makes heavier than air machines such as airplanes fly or creating water from hydrogen and oxygen atoms. Think about this fact a moment and you will capture what I am writing about in the purest, most realistically applicable way.
So, hard work is not everything, but hard thinking is. Hard or easy work, creativity is the best in it, because it helps things genuinely grow. Why does anything work better? Because, creatively better ways are found to do what needs and wants to be done. Without creativity, everything, easy or hard is just fruitless work.

4 Great Techniques To Help Your Baby Learn To Creep
Most babies typically begin creeping around the six- to seven-month
mark. However, the range of age is wide in terms of when this may
actually occur. Some babies begin to creep as early as five months,
while others may take as long as eight or nine months. Creeping requires
a considerable amount of trunk and upper/lower extremity strength, so
have some patience and don't rush your little one! We have provided a
few techniques below to help you help baby get moving.
Please note: if you are worried that your baby is not as active as she should be, talk with your pediatrician. Trust your instincts!
Before we get to the techniques, let's define the difference between two terms that are often used interchangeably: creeping and crawling.
Creeping isdefined as moving around on the floor with the stomach in direct contact with the ground. Some babies develop the ability to creep in a circle first; while others, whose arms are stronger than their legs, are able to creep backwards first.
Crawling is defined as moving on hands and knees with the stomach up off of the ground. One type of crawling, known as commando crawling, may be seen when an infant moves around on the floor on forearms while dragging his hips behind him.
The following are some strategies for initiating and developing creeping skills in your baby:
Tummy Time
One often overlooked aspect of developing the ability to creep is time spent on the floor. As long as your baby has adequate head control then she should be spending at least one hour each day, every day, on the floor. This activity has many benefits such as building strength of the arms and chest muscles as baby pushes her chest up off the floor. While in this position, baby will also have an opportunity to strengthen her neck muscles as she lifts her head to look around the room. Some babies may not like or be able to tolerate tummy time for extended periods. If this is your baby, start small and gradually increase the amount of time spent on the floor. Your baby will be able to tolerate being on her stomach if she sees you doing it with her, so lie down on your stomach face-to-face with your baby and show her how much fun tummy time is!
Once your baby is able to tolerate being on her stomach for an extended length of time, you are ready to help her to start moving.

Creeping in a Circle
- Position baby on the floor propped on her forearms.
- Place a small, brightly colored toy directly in front of her just out of reach.
- Move the toy towards your baby's side in a semi-circle so that she has to turn her head to continue looking at the toy.
- Encourage her to shift her body weight from one hand to the other and try to reach the toy by pivoting on her stomach.
- As she begins moving towards the toy, move it so that it is just out of her reach. Continue moving the toy until she has crept in a complete circle towards one side of her body. Allow her to play with the toy for a short amount of time and then repeat this process towards the opposite side of her body. Repeat this activity so that baby makes five complete circles to both the right and left sides of her body.
Creeping Forward (Double Leg Assist)
- Position baby on her stomach on the floor with a small toy just out of reach.
- Once she is engaged with the toy, kneel behind her and slightly bend both of her knees.
- Place your hands under the bottom of her feet and provide her with a firm surface from which to push off of.
- Encourage her to reach forward to get the toy by dragging herself forward with her hands and pushing off of your hands with her feet.
Creeping Forward (Single Leg Assist)
- Place baby on her stomach with a brightly colored toy in front of her just out of reach.
- Once she is interested in and focused on the toy, bend one of her knees.
- Place your hand under the foot of the leg with the bent knee and encourage her to push off from your hand as she reaches for the toy by extending or straightening that leg.
- When baby has moved forward, switch to her other leg and bend that knee and repeat the above process.
- Continue forward alternating between her right and left legs.
